Speakers
July 12th - Bob Libka gave a great presentation based on the book The World is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman. He explained how the many technological advantages available can actually strengthen a local area by utilizing open-sourcing and digital exchanges, among other things, to broaden ones knowledge, gain additional views, and be exposed to cultures and ideals one may never had considered before.
July 19th – Rebecca Woll shared her “nerve-wracking” adventures including a 500 foot drop bungee jump in Nepal and her recent tandem ski-duc in the United Arab Emirates. I am sure seeing the video of the jump made one feel just as queasy as the real deal.
July 26th – Dr. Wylmarie Sykes gave yet another wonderful presentation on the use of virtual reality. She explained how this would be a great tool to be used as an aid for teachers and what it might take to get a program up and running in the Proviso Area.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. We always enjoy those who share with Rotary.
Club Business
To help offset the cost of producing the video of Richard Hunt creating our centennial sculpture “Reaching Up Reaching Out” President Dawson is selling copies for $10.00. What a deal to have this event captured on film by such a grand producer! Please contact Mike at interprod1@aol.com if you are interested in purchasing one. This is a great way to show Mike how much we appreciate all his hard work.
Don’t forget the new year started on July 1, 2007, so if you want to be among those with perfect attendance and you missed last week, please get to a make-up. Make-ups are good for 14 days before or after the missed meeting. Let’s see if we can set a new record next year!!

P.S. Those questionnaires I spoke about in the last issue, have yet to be created. I hope time will allow this
in the very near future.
